A couple of years back I really wanted to get into illustration. I’ve done it a handful of times on my own, but never for any of the clients I was working with at my current agency. I decided that year I was going to do a different illustration every week. The thing that always tripped me up was not having a prompt. I bought a book for drawing that had all these different topics in it. At the beginning of each week, I’d sketch out what I what do and work on it 15 minutes at a time. By the end of the week I’d have a finished product. I’d like to start posting the ones I’m most proud of just so they have somewhere to live. For this one the word was bakery and I decided to make a series of it. I was really drawn to primary color schemes, still am and wanted to utilize the halftone dots to give it texture.
